Allan Clarke and Graham Nash, two of the original Hollies, modelled their vocal styles on the brothers.
In 1966 Hollies Clarke, Nash and Tony Hicks wrote two thirds of their album ’Two Yanks in England’.
We backed Don and Phil on some of those tracks at Decca studios in London, along with then session guitarist, Jimmy Page.
So for Allan and Graham, from being two bedraggled kids waiting for the Ev’s autographs outside the Free Trade Hall in a rainy Manchester, England; the circle was completed, and we were hanging out in London with our heroes.
